Whether working directly with brands, or partnering with agencies, we offer a streamlined approach to creative and production services. From concept to delivery, our mission is to create cinema quality stories in the most authentic way possible, with the least amount of bullshit. The budget goes on screen, not to bros standing around eating crafty. Founded by filmmakers Meredith Danluck and Jake Burghart, American Awesome is built on decades of boots on the ground experience in some of the most challenging conditions, from Iran to North Korea, to the middle of the Pacific Ocean and Times Square at rush hour- we have been there and done that. Nothing is impossible. We are headquartered in Los Angeles, but are a global network of Swiss army knives.

Burghart and Danluck spent decades producing and shooting some of the most seminal content for Vice Media, developing the look and feel of the brand. From there they have worked on feature documentary and narrative films, branded content, commercial campaigns, as well as  tour visuals and live film production for clients such as Against Me!, Arcade Fire, Beyonce, Jay Z and John Legend.

In addition to production services we run a boutique rental house that specializes in exactly the kind of production we do, high-end yet streamlined. From custom documentary style Alexa set-ups for single user operators, to lighting packages that don’t require a box truck. Gimbals, drones, water housings, we’ve got it all enabling us to be both flexible and nimble on our productions.
